Lotus Esprit Concept Car

Mr Giorgetto Giugiaro has pursude one basic motive since "Manta," which made him and Ital Design famous world -wide. The motive appeared repeatedly in his works from Manta to Boomerang and Caimano, to adopt the wedge shaped to high powered sports cars.

A wedge shape improves aerodynamic stability at high speed, being independent of an appendage wing, it is certianly one solution for the future. But many difficulties lie to its achievement. For example the formative balance between keen front end and bumper, the limit in suspension and trunk rroom by front slope's restraint in measure, the adjustment in front slope and wind shield angle and the measure balance around A-pillar between increasing area of wind shield and decreased height of side window.

Some pure styling concept models in the range from Manta to Caimano were intentionally made little of. Not to equip bumper to the models is an example.
